Originally from Saskatchewan, Carl Shinkaruk is a self-taught artist. In 'Busted Concho', the cowboy's solitary nature is quietly apparent. His face obscured by a white hat, the blue of his shirt and the brown of this chaps stand out from the dark grey background as he kneels to fix a concho.
Natasha Vizen was born and trained in Russia moving to Canada in 1978. She continued her painting in Victoria BC working almost in oils.
A close look at nature’s power and beauty is the main characteristic of Natasha’s work. Almost all her paintings can be captured under the “Portraits of Nature” title. Natasha puts colorful birds, powerful wild animals, precious pets and beautiful flowers on her canvasses. She works almost exclusively in oils.
