West Coast Lifestyle
If your dream is to live amid breathtaking nature, exploring rain forests and beaches then the west coast is your oasis.
The West Coast of Vancouver Island has so many special places to explore. The string of beaches and parks should be on the top of your list. Beginning with East Sooke National Park for exploring and touring, Sooke Pot Holes for rock pool dips and hiking, French Beach Provincial Park popular for family, sunbathers and beachcombers. China Beach, hike through rain forests, spectacular water views and sandy beaches below. Just a few kilometers more and you reach Mystic Beach. A little more effort is required to get to the sandy mystical beach area but well worth the hike. (wear good shoes) Look for wildlife while enjoying the scenery.
For the ardent of anglers the rugged coastline between Ucluelet and Tofino offers the best Salmon and Halibut saltwater fishing areas off Vancouver Island. Be prepared to have one of the best fishing experiences you’ve ever had. The Chinook and Coho salmons are large as are the Halibut. Fishing season is May through September.
Of course fresh seafood is a mainstay of West Coast cuisine but also the freshest local ingredients and flavors reflect the wild Pacific Northwest. There are a number of fine dining restaurants to satisfy all appetites. Enjoy dining with spectacular ocean and mountain views on many parts of the Island.
Living on the West Coast is living in the outdoors. Healthy, relaxed and extremely desirable!
