Kamloops means "where the rivers meet" in the language of the Secwepenic First Nations. The largest town by area in BC's southern interior, it lies at the crossroads of the north and south Thompson Rivers. Three major highways also meet here; the Trans Canada, Hwy 5 and the Coquihalla Connector 97C to the Okanagan Valley.
